Marine culture support for raising shellfish, fish, crustaceans etc. described use of frames covered with heat-shrunk plastic films. This addn. describes addn. forms for such structures specifically (1) sheet thermoformed into a ribbed or corrugated form and then welded or stapled to a supporting frame; (2) blister film held in parallel layers by spacer bars, or rolled to form an open coil, and tethered to wts. on the sea bed; (3) film supported as flat, serpentine layers by spacer bars having convex crests and concave bases to grip the film when supported by tie bars set in a frame on the sea bed. Opt. the borders of the film are reinforced by struts of polypropylene. |
