Anorectic amino:piperidino:pyridine(s) - with very low incidence of side-effects

Anorectic 4-amino-1-(2-pyridyl)piperidines of formula (I) and their salts are new (where R is H, halo, Me, CF3, alkoxy, -OCF3, -OCH2.CF3, alkylthio, -SCF3, phenoxy opt. subst. in the ring by halo, CF3, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio or CN; phenylthio opt. substd. in the ring by halo, CF3, alkyl, alkylthio, alkoxy or CN). Cpds. I (where R is 6-C1, 6-OCH2.CF3, 6-Me, 6-Br, 6-phenylthio and 6-OMe) or their salts. The cpds. have anorectic activity and are given in daily doses of 0.01 to 10 mg/kg, preferably orally. They have no major side-effects, e.g. CNS depressant activity.
