<p>The system enables house bound people to call a central agency to summon help in an emergency. The system includes a central surveillance post and a box situated in the person's house. The separation between them may be up to 15 km. The box contains an FM transmitter with a power of approx. 10 watts, a microprocessor interface and programmable memory. The box has a strap by which it may be attached to the person's belt, and a connector with a number of terminals. A pushbutton switch may be connected to one input, and other detectors may be connected to the other inputs. In response to an input the microprocessor identifies the particular cause, and selects the stored message for transmission to the central monitoring post. The box may include two separate power supplies, one for the transmitter, and one for the microprocessor and memory circuits.</p> |
