The closure device is designed for use on the press door of a baling press. The press door (3) is connected with a shaft (7). This shaft is designed to engage in the guide holes (10) of a lock (6) in the tensioned condition of the closure. The lock (6) is supported so that it can be tensioned against the direction of opening of the door on the press housing (1).
