<p>A steaming former for finishing of sweaters, cardigans and similar knitwear comprises a hollow, flat trunk section and separate, independently-mounted sleeve formers which can be inclined away from the trunk, towards the operator, to an angle of 20 deg. from the vertical. The steaming process uses a mixt. of hot hot air mixed with 10-70% of steam which is blownthrough the garment from within the former, followed by a cooling current of cold air. The hot air continues to flow through the former whilst the steamed garment is replaced with another, to prevent the accumulation of condensation.. Separation of arm formers from the trunk makes the garment mounting process easier, quicker and less arduous. The uninterrupted flow of hot air prevents problems caused by the collection of condensation within the former.</p> |
