Aluminium roller for vehicle track chain - has antiwear disc, rubber belt, and steel hollow rings in casting gas-filled to dissipate heat

The aluminium guide roller is intended for an endless chain of a tracked vehicle. It has an antiwear disc (10) adjacent to the chain wheel teeth and a rubber belt (14) around the running surface (9). Tubular rings (2,3) in steel or other high-strength material are contained in the cast body (1) of the roller which itself consists of a hight-strength hardenable aluminium alloy. The disc (10) is pre-formed and in good thermally conducting contact with the body. The rings (3) are filled with a gas with good heat exchange characteristics to optimise heat dissipation from the running surface (9).(DS).
