1. Supporting means for sheeting walls, sheet piles or the like as an insert in apparatus for stiffening the sides of trenches, comprising pairs of sheeting plates (1) kept in spaced relation by struts (11, 12) which are transversally arranged with respect to the longitudinal axis of a trench, characterized in that said supporting means comprises a horizontal connection beam (12) with end portions (11) which each of which carries a bracket (9) pivotable about a vertical pivot pin (10), the end portion of said bracket being averted from said pivot pin (10), being formed as a clamping shoe (5) which is integrally connected to said bracket (9), that said clamping shoe (5) consists of a C-profile the longitudinal axis if which being parallel with respect to said pivot pin (10), the groove opening of said C-profile being averted from said pivot pin (10) and that in the bight (7) of said clamping shoe (5) at least one clamping bolt (8, 18) is disposed which is vertically disposed with respect to the longitudinal axis of said clamping shoe (5) and carries a clamping jaw (6 or 16, respectively). |
