<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to lead illumination light onto an irradiation surface uniformly with efficiency by leading the illumination light to a bundle of optical fiber which is arrayed in a rectangular shape and has the projection surface formed in a slit shape and by interposing a cylinder lens between the projection surface and irradiation surface. CONSTITUTION:In the housing, light source 11, infrared-ray filter 12, optical fiber bundle 13, and cylinder lens 9 at the tipe of optical fiber bundle 13 at a fixed interval from optical fiber bundle 13 are contained to constitute lighting system 14. This lighting system 14 projects light 18 onto desired irradiation surface B on paper 17 to be read. Then, the amount of reflected light 19 of projected light 18 on paper 17 moving in the direction of the arrow, i.e. the existence of a mark is detected by photosensor 15 to read the mark. Optical fiber bundle 13 is boundled up by holder 21 to form a slit-shaped projection flank in housing 14, so that the variance of optical transmission characteristics can be prevented.</p> |
