<p>Stoning machine is for cherries and similar fruit, having a reciprocating stoning knife. An alignment device acts on the stalk of the cherry accommodated in a mounting, and a clamp holds it in the latter once aligned, so as to keep the stone in the path of the knife. Means can be provided to cut off the stalk after alignment has taken place and before the knife comes into action. The mounting can comprise a sleeve of dia. and height such as to accommodate only one cherry at a time, and with an opening for the knife in the bottom. At the other end are two alignment plates moving together and apart, one at least having a V-shaped groove for the stalk.</p> |
