PURPOSE:To obtain a binder for thermosensitive recording paper excellent in mechanical adaptability in high-speed coating and in dispersibility to dyestuffs and color formers, by a mthod wherein a (meth)acrylic acid ester is grafted onto starch. CONSTITUTION:As the titled binder is used denatured starch (approximately 0.01-100% are preferred as graft ratios.) obtained by grafting onto starch a (meth) acrylic acid ester such as hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate or dipropylene glycol (meth) acrylate shown by the formula [wherein R1, R2, and R3 are each H, methyl; R4 is H, 1-5C (halogenated) alkyl; n is 1-20]. By using said denatured starch, for example, by mixing a dyestuff of approximately 1-25wt%), a phenolic material of approximately 30-94wt% and said graft-denatured starch of 5-60wt% is obtained a thermosensitive resin composition for manufacturing thermosensitive recording paper. |
