PURPOSE:To make it possible to vary the distance betwen input and output terminals by reducing a transmission loss, by inserting the internal conductor or a coaxial line from a slit provided in the center or the H surface of a rectangular waveguide that has a resistive terminator connected to its one end. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic wave applied to input terminal 1 is transferred to coaxial line 4 via isolator 6 and internal conductor 4a of coaxial line 4 projecting into rectangular waveguide 3 va in the center of the H surface of rectangular waveguide 3 transmits its energy into rectangular waveguide 3. The electromagnetic wave transmitted into rectangular waveguide 3 progates in both axial directions of rectangular waveguide 3; one reaches output terminal 2 by advancing toward output terminal 2, and the other toward resistive terminator 5, so that its energy will be absorbed. Then, input terminal 1 is moved nearly as much as the length of slit 15 by moving table 7 to vary the distance between input and output terminals. |
