PURPOSE:To obtain the titled product having a high energy focusing degree and easy to handle by introducing a specified amount of 1/2Tm2O3 into glass contg. a specified cationic% of 1/2P2O5, AlF3, YF3, etc. CONSTITUTION:0.01-6 Cationic% 1/2Tm2O3 is added to glass consisting of 5- 25 cationic% 1/2P2O5, 20-35% AlF3 (0-8.3% of which may be replaced with Al2O3), 0-5% YF3, 22-55% BaF2+SrF2+CaF2+MgF2 and 0-25% NaF+ KF+LiF. These starting materials are mixed, melted at about 1,000 deg.C in a fire resistant metal crucible, agitated, refined, and cast in a mold. |
