PURPOSE:To lower the blowing-out temperature in a converter by providing a mechanism provided with a heat-insulating cover mounting and demounting device of a ladle and a ladle heating cover to near the converter. CONSTITUTION:A heat-insulating cover mounting device consisting of the 1st arm 8, a hoist 9 and a magnet 12 and a slewing type ladle heating cover consisting of the 2nd arm 15, and a ladle heating cover 17 are provided. When a ladle 2 is brought to near the stand 4 by a carriage 1, the 1st arm 8 slews and the hoist 9 travels to above the ladle. The magnet 12 descends and is energized to attract and lift the ladle heat-insulating cover 21. The 1st arm 8 slews about 180 deg.. At the same time, the 2nd arm 15 slews, places the ladle heating cover 17 on the ladle 2, and descends by (l) to cover the ladle 2 which is then heated to about >=1,200 deg.C by a burner device 18. After the heating, the ladle heating cover 17 is returned to the original position, and the ladle 2 receives steel in the converter, thence it again stops at the previous position. The 1st arm 8 slews and the magnet 12 is lowered by the hoist 9 to put the cover, after which the magnet is de-energized and is returned to the orignal position. |
