PURPOSE:To facilitate the removal of scale in the following process, by annealing stainless steel, having been hot rolled, in a protective gas atmosphere contained in an inner cover, then by replacing the atmosphere gas with inert gas. CONSTITUTION:Ferritic or martensitic stainless steel is hot rolled, and is annealed using protective gas contg. combustible reducing gas as an atmosphere gas in an inner cover. After annealing, the protective gas in the inner cover is replaced with inert gas such as Ar, and the inner cover is removed. This method allows to facilitate to remove scale formed by atmospheric annealing so as to improve the quality of products. |
