PURPOSE:To make it possible to clear the signal line simply, by excluding remaining electric charge and so on on the signal line through the CCD by the priming transfer of the MOSFET, in the solid image pickup device. CONSTITUTION:Before signal electric charge of photodiode 43 is read in the signal line 44, the remaining charge on signal line 44 and charge leaked from photodiode 43 to signal line 44 by blooming and so on are transferred to drain 48 of MOSFET 47 during horizontal blanking by priming transfer and are transferred to storage region 58 through transfer gate 46 and storage region 54 of horizontal CCD transfer part 52 to drive clear gate 59. These charge are transferred to overflow drain 60 and is excluded by clear gate 59. Consequently, since no MOS switch for reset is required for excluding and clearing needless charge on signal line 44, fixed noise is not generated and the signal line is cleared simply. |
