The ceiling light gives even illumination of a wall in conjunction with adjacent lights, having a trough-shaped reflector closed at the sides and a halogen bulb extending in the lengthwise direction of the reflector. In a vertical side view of the light (L), the reflecting surface (R) has three sections joining onto each other in succession. The first and third sections are formed by curves, determined by formulae, while the second is part of a straight line likewise determined by a formula. The filament (3) of the bulb (2) is symmetrical in relation to the reflector centre line, and is at a point where two lines intersect, one at right angles to the plane (S) of the reflector opening, and the other at between 72 and 92 deg. to the second section of the reflector. The ratio between the lengths of the second and first lines is between 1:1.5 and 1:2.7.
