Trimming machine for preformed textile panels - having shaped formers and high temp. heated cutters

Device for trimming and piercing three-dimensional textile panels, partic. floor linings for motor vehicles, has similarly-shaped upper and lower formers between which the panel is held, and having apertures corresponding to those required in the panel. Heated cutters can be driven through the apertures in the former to produce the required apertures in the panel. The cutting blade is curved towards the edge to be trimmed, and is heated by direct electric current to 300-450 deg.C, pref. 400 deg.C. The device produces clean-cut, tear-free edges without stressing or stretching the material.
