A checking station for the personal trolleys has interlocks controlled by coin insertion. The consumer trolley has a metal framework with two pairs of wheels that locate in guideways at the checking station. Attached to the pillar of the checking station is a pivoted interlock that ensures that the trolley is retained. A non-contact magnet inset into the guide is triggered by the trolley to control the interlocks. A coin insert stage and checking unit controls the release of the interlock system.
