The mechanism adjusts a machining tool in relation to work sliding at right angles to the adjustment direction, having a sensor working with a guide face extending in the direction of the sliding movement and controlling a tool- adjusting ram. The sensor is a pneumatic back-pressure probe (36), generating a pressure at its measurement outlet (48) varying with the distance of the probe from the guide face, (20) and moved by the ram (22) together with the tool (10). Two turbulence amplifiers (52,54) each have a supply inlet (56,58) from a compressed-air source (42), a control inlet (60,62), a working signal outlet (64,66) at which a pressure is generated inversely proportional to that at the control inlet, and an outlet (68,70). The differential current between that through the supply inlet and the working signal outlet is discharged via the latter outlet.
|
