The system is used for holding insulating material, in external wall facing cladding. It uses a batten substructure. The holder is made up from an anchoring piece for fixture to a batten and a spring compression piece for the insulating material (12). The holder is pref. angular in cross-section, one shank being connected to the spring piece, and the other serrated for locking into the batten, or it can be U-shaped, with clamps on the second shank. Work is simplified, and insulating material can be quickly and easily fixed in position, with no holes to be drilled.
