The gun mounting for an armoured vehicle includes a circular support (7) for the barrel of the gun, at the top of a vertical cylinder (6) which raises and lowers it. This support is also attached to a system of levers which includes a forked arm (10) with a cross piece at the front forming a horizontal pivot axis (11) for tilting the gun. Between these two arms is incorporated a device for locating the gun in its upper and lower positons. This includes a locating block (12) with pointed ends, which rotates through a limited angle about a horizontal axis. The pointed ends are brought into contact with cam surfaces on a wedge shaped opening through a block under the circular support. The locating block is attached to the lower ends of the two swinging arms.
