Multi keyboard musical instrument for music instruction - allows user to play independently but sharing one note generator

For music instruction in schools, individual two octave keyboards are provided for up to sixteen pupils. A central note generator has a compass of seven octaves in five registers, each with a number of stops, and its output is shared out between the pupil keyboards. Pupils wear headsets with which they are able to hear their own playing and can talk to the teacher. Each keyboard has its own electronic metronome. The teacher has a console and keyboard. He can listen to the playing of any pupil and talk or demonstrate via the headset. A performance by a number of pupils playing together can be reproduced over a loudspeaker. Maintenance of timing is assisted by an optical indicator simulating movements of the conductor's baton.
