<p>The stone protector for twin wheels has a cylindrical ring (30) clipped between the adjoining wheel rims, and bonded to an elastic ring (33) which fills the space between the wheels. The pad reaches nearly to the tread and prevents pickup of stones and debris. The ring is made of spring steel and has profiled edges to grip the edges of the wheel rims. The elastic ring can be filled with voids for improved elasticity. Ventilation holes can be included to cover the flexing of the structure.</p> |
