Casette which can be sterilised is for use in a breathing device where sterile air is necessary esp. for providing medicated or conditioned air for inhalation by patients. The complete air passage in the fan unit is kept entirely separate from the mechanical and electrical components in the drive and motor. The coupling between the drive and the fan element can be an eddy current coupling, front rotational coupling, a hysteresis coupling or a specially designed rotating field coil system. The coupling is formed into an integral part of the casette which includes a coarse filter for permanent air filtration. |
