Each corner upright (4) is designed to hold a telescopically extending leg (5) which can be locked in the extended position of use and in the retracted rest position by a clamp mechanism. The two side walls are designed as rectangular sections (7) whose dimensions in the longitudinal direction of the bed are not longer than the width of an end wall. The sections (7) are connected together and to the corner uprights so that they can be turned about their vertical rotary axes for easy folding. The end and side walls are locked in their unfolded position of use by a section clamping mechanism (9) which is released when the bed is folded down. When the cot folds down the side walls fold in such a way that the end walls move towards each other.
