<p>PURPOSE:To improve the rate of utilization of an adsorbent without impairing the rate of adsorptive removal even in gas treatment of a large amount by allowing the adsorbent flowing down in a plurality of the specific units contained in a gas flow chamber and communicating with the top and bottom to contact with the flowing gas in crossflow. CONSTITUTION:An adsorbent packing chamber is constituted by front and rear louvers 1, 1a, of which the spacing is divergent downward, lower walls 2, 2a which extend downward from the bottom ends thereof and are convergent downward, and right and left side walls 3, 3'. A flow distributing body 4 of an inverted V shape in section and a flow distributing plate 5 perpendicularly extending downward from the vertex thereof are placed horizontally in the lower region of said chamber over the entire length in its transverse direction, whereby the unit is constituted. A plurality of these are stacked above and below and are communicated with perpendicular connecting parts 7, 7a to make the inter-louver spacing larger on the lower stage side. A series of such units are contained in a gas flow vessel 8 and an adsorbent such as active carbon is flowed down from the inlet at the top into discharge means 6, whereby it is flowed orthogonally with the gas flow such as SOx-contg. exhaust gas in the vessel 8.</p> |
