The suspension assembly is intended for a bottle gripper head and comprises a bush (1) which is secured in a carrier (2) and holds the upper end (8) of a shaft (3) with a gripper cup (4) at its lower end. The bush has a downwardly converging conical (6) bore (5) holding a larger-dia. portion (9) of the shaft. The lower end (7) of the bore is cylindrical and, below the portion (9) the shaft has a collar (10) which is dimensioned so that it can pass through the cylindrical portion (7) of the bore. The shaft may have longitudinal radial projections (12) whilst the portion (7) has corresponding longitudinal grooves (13).
