The hydraulic control system is for use with a mineral mining installation in which a conveyor tensioner is connected to and held by a roof prop. assembly. The control system comprises a pressure fluid supply line with an automatic hydraulic interlock device connected during use between the supply line and tensioner. The interlock device has a sensor responsive to the pressure in the roof prop. assembly, and is operative to allow fluid to flow to operate the tensioner only when the pressure in the prop. assembly reaches a predetermined setting. Preferably, the conveyor is a longwall conveyor and the tensioner includes a piston-cylinder unit.
