<p>The supply of pref. elastic yarn to the knitting machine is controlled so that the yarn tension is increased when knitting a narrow section and decreased when knitting a wide section. The yarn passes pref. through a guide movable axially along a conical (pref. rubber) constant speed roller in synchronism with the machine, and the guide applies the yarn against the roller surface at an axial position corresponding to the required tension. The supply of different elasticity yarns is eliminated.</p> |
