A dosing device for dosing granular material, preferably fodder material in the form of so-called pellets, comprises a circular cylindrical tube (1), in which a feed screw (5) extends for feeding material through the tube towards an outlet (2) in the latter, the feed screw forming a first helical path with a constant pitch in the tube. A control means (19) is adapted to activate a drive motor (8) in response to a desired material dose, so that the motor turns the feed screw (5) a number of revolutions, which corresponds to said desired material dose discharged through the outlet (2) of the tube. According to the invention at least one stationary elongated guide member (20) surrounds the feed screw (5) and forms in the tube a second helical path with a direction of hand opposite to that of said first helical path. Further, the guide member (20) extends radially inwards from the inner wall of the tube, granular material being brought by the guide member to turn helically in the tube towards its outlet as a solid body during operation. Hereby a dosing without any disturbances and of a good accuracy is obtained. |
