PURPOSE:To remove or control the primary inertia coupling and prevent low frequency vibration by satisfactorily balancing both inertia coupling and the force of inertia simultaneously in the construction which changes only the weight distribution of a reciprocation unit in each cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The weight of the reciprocating units of the pistons and connecting rods in No.1 and No.5 cylinders is defined to be WBA and the weight of the reciprocating units in No.2 and No.4 cylinders are defined to be WRB. The weight distribution of WRA and WRB are so decided that inertia coupling MT=0. From the condition that FT=0, WRB 1.24WRA is obtained, since 4WRA.COSlambda=WRB,lambda= 72. Where FT is the sum of the primary inertia in all the cylinders. Therefore, the primary inertia coupling can be satisfactorily balanced by determining the weight distribution of the reciprocating units in each cylinder so as to satisfy the two equations. |
