PURPOSE:To obtain both a damped force ratio of small stroke and original stroke characteristics by providing around a control rod a space filled with a gas the pressure of which is about the same as that of a quiescent oil pressure, and by connecting the space to the damping force generation passage of this actuating oil. CONSTITUTION:A clearance D is widened by an upward motion of a control rod 19 actuated by an operating device not illustrated in the drawing. A downward motion of a piston 10 increases the pressure in a lower chamber B and permits the oil in the chamber B to flow into an upper chamber A through a passage C, the clearance D, the middle part of the inner diameter 20a, and passages 21 and 22. Since the clearance D is wide in this case, a low attenuation force is obtained. Narrowing the clearance D by actuating the control rod downward decreases the orifice area and hence increases the attenuation force. |
