PURPOSE:To save lead consumption and shorten the time for welding by touching a plate lug and the top of a wedge provided on a step and heating through sending a current to weld. CONSTITUTION:An assembled element is formed by welding and connecting a lug 9 of a plate 6 and a step 4 having a cell post 3. When, the top of a wedge 4' provided on the step 4 and the lug 9 are touched together, and pressed by electrodes 12, 13 horizontally, and a current is sent from an electric source 14 to both electrodes 12, 13. When, a graphite electrode 12' the electric resistance of which is larger than that of the step 4 and plate lug 9 itself is provided on the electrodes 12, 13 to serve a heating element, thus the touching part of the top of the wedge 4' and plate lug 9 and touching part of the heated graphite electrode 12' and plate lug 9 are selectively melted to complete welding. Hastelloy may be used as the electrode 12' for heating instead of graphite. |
