<p>A process for producing verdured consolidation of land surfaces for protection against erosion consists in covering the surface with one or more layers to a thickness of 5-6 cm. with a composition prepd. from sand, stone chips, ground stone filler and a thermoplastic bonding agent. The coating is highly porous and native soil seeds and fertiliser may be washed in with water. Alternatively the soil may first be treated with fertiliser, seeds, peat etc. before covering with the composition. The coating composition consists of a mineral mixture contg. 80-90% of stone chips of 12-60 mm size, 15-7% sand of 0.09-3 mm grain size. 5-3% ground stone filler of 0.0001-0.99 mm particle size mixed with a binding agent at the rate of 3.6-5.3 pts. per 100 pts. mineral mixture. The composition may be coloured with mineral pigments e.g. Fe and Cr oxides, and may contain adhesives. The binding agent may be bitumen contg. rubber powder or synthetic thermoplastic material. After spreading the composition is solidified under pressure. Suitable verduring seeds are grass, stonecrop, clover, li chen.</p> |
