Antiviral vaccines purification with con- - trolled pore glass

Human and veterinary antiviral vaccines are purified by passing the immunising agent and/or its precursor through controlled pore glass ("CPG"). This provides a simplified process and better vaccines avoiding complications from contaminants. It corresponds to a chromatographic process, the CPG replacing the org. polymers, and allows for great variation in the nature of the CPG. Separation of constituents on elution according to their steric properties or their different absorption characteristics.
