Sepg. method of isobutylene is described. Thus, 50 ml C4 hydrocarbon pyrolysis fraction contg. isobutane, n-butane, isobutylene, 1-butene, 2-butene, and others (1.6, 5.0, 47.1, 24.8, 18.2, and 3.3 wt. % resp.) was reacted with 100g paratoluene sulfonic acid in a high-pressure reactor to be obserbed C4 mixt. into paratoluene sulfonic acid, and cooled to room temp. followed by sepg. unabsorbed C4 mixt. under vacuum. Isobutylene absorbedparatoluene sulfonic acid was treated in 90≦̸C to give-phase product and cooled to give the title compd.
