PURPOSE:To form annular grooves of high strength at one time with ease by forming a plurality of annular rings on the outside diameter of a shaft through forming by rolling. CONSTITUTION:A relief 2 is beforehand formed in the part of a shaft 1 of a circular section by steel material and of predetermined length where no grooving is applied. Thence, the shaft 1 is formed by rolling to form a purality of annular grooves 3. Thence, the part having built up owing to the formation of the annular grooves 3 is finished by grinding or the like. Hence, unlike the case of machining the annular grooves 3, there is no formation of chips and a plurality of the annular grooves 3 are formed at one time without requiring any degree of skill. The formed annular grooves 3 are made stronger by plastic formation. |
