The stringer tapes are made up of main warp threads and mutually adjacent double wefts (4, 5) of a continuous main weft thread (6). The rows of closure members are designed in each case in the form of a plastic monofilament double weft, with lower and upper limbs (8, 9) of the closure members lying essentially superimposed in a projection towards the zip fastener plane. They are covered by binder warp threads (12) offset in relation to one another in the longitudinal direction of the zip fastener with respect to the weft insertion, and are thus connected to the stringer tape. Moreover, double wefts (5) of the main weft threads (6) in the area between the closure members (8, 9) and in addition double wefts (4) of the main weft threads (6) under the closure members (8, 9) are arranged in individual main warp thread pockets of a stringer tape area lying under the closure members. The double wefts (5) of the main weft thread are pulled up in the area between the closure members (8, 9) by means of at least one of the binder warp threads (12) over the plane of the stringer tapes into the area between the closure members, advantageously as far as or above the level of the upper limb (9) of the closure members. In this way the resistance of the zip fastener to bending is improved.

|
