Reagents for detection and determn. of virus contg. new polypeptides of formula (I) as effective ingredient are new. In (I), each amino acid residue has L-form; R1 is lysine or arginine; when R1 = lysine, R2 = asparagine, R3 = leucine, R4 = threonine and R5 = asparagine; when R1 = arginine, R2=R5=glycine, R3 = isoleucine and R4 = serine; means an -S-S- bond; the arabic numerals attached on the aminoacids indicate the aminoacid sequence from the N-terminal. From a mixt. of virus having no cytopathogenic effect and host cell, it is possible to detect and determine the virus. Also possible to detect and isolate cells which have no sensitivity to virus.
