<p>The tank turret has an automatic gun-loading feed, the gun recoiling in an axial diametral plane, while a magazine slews with the turret. The turret (1) is divided, by a partition (11) parallel to the plane in which the gun recoils, into a compartment (13) fothe crew (14) and one for the gun and the main magazine. The recoiling mass is fixed to a frame supporting an auxiliary magazine (36) and a transfer mechanism for the rounds (20) to the breech (5) from this magazine A further ram (25-29) slewing with the turret, transfers the rounds (20) from the main magazine to the auxiliary. The gun can be loaded from the auxiliary magazine at an angle of elevation, while transfer between magazines takes place at one particular angle.</p> |
