The leg for a rotary article of furniture, such as filing cabinet, is easily assembled and possesses excellent rigidity. It comprises a central base tube (3) to which radial arms (1) are fixed in a star shape. The ends of the arms rest on the ground. The tube fits into matching recesses (2) in the arms. Those parts of the arms inside the tube are spaced by spacer plugs (6), each in the form of a truncated-cone shape nut. A screw (8) with its head against the radially inner ends of the arms is screwed into the nut.
