<p>Hot gas has the dust removed by passage through felt filter medium. This is constructed from non-combustible material based on non-inflammable polyester mechanically bonded onto a support fabric. The material has a thickness between 1 and 6 mm and a weight between 200 and 1200 g/m2. The woven base can be formed from a filament or staple yarn, or a combination. The medium is esp. suitable for collecting hot or glowing particles such as the gas from blast furnaces or furnaces for electrolysing Al or other NE derivatives. Bonded fabric filters are known but the organic bonding agents are not heat resistant as is the mechanically bonded felt.</p> |
