Throttle operated motor vehicle deceleration indicator - uses block sliding on accelerator cable between limits set by block clamped to cable sheath to activate warning signal

Upon closing of the throttle on a motor vehicle, a signal is given to following traffic by a lamp (8) on the rear of the vehicle, activated by contacts (4,5) on the accelerator cable. A block (5) is clamped (3) to the end of the accelerator cable sheath (2). The block has the form of a U with one limb shortened, and carries a contact (51) which is connected to the signal lamp (8). A second block (4) which can slide along the accelerator cable (1), fits inside the block (5) attached to the cable sheath. The friction between the sliding block and the cable is controlled by texture put on the cable at manufacture. The vehicle supply (6) is connected to the sliding block (4) through a switch (7). When the throttle is opened the sliding block moves with the cable away from the fixed contact. When the throttle is closed the sliding block moves with the cable till the contacts close, then the cable slides through it.
