PURPOSE:To provide high sensitivity and robust color images, improve the dye conversion rate of couplers and improve resistance to degradation in coloring by using the specific 5-pyrazolone magenta couplers are magenta color forming two equivalent couplers. CONSTITUTION:The 5-pyrazolone magenta couplers expressed by the formula [R is acylamino, anilino, ureide, Ar is (substituted) aryl, substituents are halogen, alkyl of C1-C35, alkoxy, CN, R1 is H, halogen, alkyl; X is nonmetallic atom groups forming 5- or 6-member rings, however X is excluded for the case of benzene rings, the rings may contain carbonyl, sulfon groups, etc. therein or may have substitutes such as halogen and NO2] are contained in a silver halide emulsion layer or intermediate layer. The couplers are easy to synthesize, may be obtained at a high yield, are stable to formalin and acetone and are able to provide images of less photographic fogs and stains. The heat resistant stability of the images is good as well. |
