The sanitary module (1) has a shower cubicle (2) and toilet cubicle (3), the cubicles being separated by a small upstand (9) and flexible curtain (10). When the shower is used, most of the waste water will go direct to a shower drain (12) but sometimes folds in the curtain allow water to escape over the top edge of the upstand (9) into the toilet cubicle. All the water, together with any other water on the floor of the toilet cubicle, is collected by a drain (14) running along the separator (9) from which an opening leads down beneath the separator into the shower drain (12).
