[Also in Divisions A2 and B5] The solubility of powdery materials is improved by the agglomeration thereof (see Division B4-5) by passing the powder, carrying an electrical charge of preferably positive polarity, through a dispersed wetting fluid carrying a charge of opposite polarity, whereby wetting of the powder is facilitated to cause agglomeration, whereafter the agglomerates are dried. The method is applied to the agglomeration of a tooth cleaning powder comprising precipitated calcium carbonate, coconut oil fatty acid monoglyceride, polyethylene glycol, sodium saccharide and flavours, using water as the liquid, and to a nutritive product comprising secondary phosphate of calcium, sugar, vitamins B1 and B2, and including emulsifier and flavour, using othanol as the liquid. Powdered drugs and cosmetics may also be agglomerated. |
