<p>The fuse has metal grip flaps (1) insulated from the knife contacts fixed to an insulating casing. The grip flaps are angled and are joined by a base (2) running along the rear of the casing. One or two straps (4) hold the base to the casing (3). The straps are attached at their ends to opposite side edges of the base and have projections (8) that locate in recesses (9) in the casing. Alternatively, the straps may be held to the casing by screws on the front of the casing or the straps may have spring flaps or buttons on their inside faces to press against the casing. The advantage lies in requiring relatively little material and in the grip flaps being fixed rigidly to the casing whilst at the same time being adequately insulated.</p> |
