The chopper driven inverter is of the type employed in a television receiver to provide the power supply for the picture tube and the audio amplifiers. The transformer has an input winding (P) which is connected to a dc source and in which the current is interrupted periodically by a transistor switch (T1). One secondary winding (S1) provides power for the chopper control and regulation. The other secondary windings (S2,S3,S4) give the power supply output to various load circuits. The secondary windings of the transformer are arranged and dimensioned such that the effect of a sudden load variation in one winding causes minimum voltage disturbance on the other windings. Typically the regulating winding (S1) is closely coupled magnetically with the other output windings so that voltage variations act directly on the regulating circuit to produce rapid corrections.
