A centrifugal casting mould is used to produce slabs and/or ingots of precious metals in a vacuum induction centrifugal casting operation. The mould is detachably fixed, lying in the plane of rotation. The bottom of the mould cavity is at the same level as the ladle spout top. The pouring hole in the mould is arranged at an angle to the mould centre line and has a conically convergent shape. Existing centrifugal casting machines can now be used for the prodn. of high-quality slabs and ingots of precious metals, thereby saving the cost for static casting plant.
