<p>The filling system supplies the helium from a reservoir (6) at normal pressure or a slight over-pressure to a helium bath in the cooling circuit. The helium is supplied along a central incoming line (7) connected to a coupling (8) which rotates with the rotor. Filling lines within the rotor lead off from the coupling. The central incoming line (7) has a cooling coil (17) around it for cooling the supplied helium to below is vaporisation temp. The coil (17) is fed with helium at a lower temp. and is positioned directly before the coupling (8) for the incoming line (7). The take-off lines within the rotor open into the helium space (4) at a distance which is above a min. radius from the rotational axis (3). The min. radius is 0.35 metres for a rate of rotation of 50 revs. per minute.</p> |
